I always wondered what this meant so here it is ...
Conditional discharge - the offender is released and the offence registered on their criminal record.
No further action is taken unless they commit a further offence within a time decided by the court (no more than three years).
A MAN from Rhos-on-Sea has received a conditional discharge and is to pay costs after he was found guilty of theft from a shop in Colwyn Bay.
Stephen Price, 61, of Bryn Eglwys, was accused of stealing items worth £35.72 from Home Bargains on February 11.
He pleaded guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 25.
Mr Price was handed a two-year conditional discharge.
He is to repay the £35.72 in compensation, and must also pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £22 victim surcharge.
This made a total of £142.72, which he is to pay in fortnightly installments of £12 from May 31.
The court also made an application for deductions from Mr. Price’s benefits.
