Llandudno...Man given conditional discharge for possession of PAVA spray cannister!

And just so you know, from Wiki PAVA spray is an incapacitant spray similar to pepper spray. It is dispensed from a handheld canister, in a liquid stream. It contains a 0.3% solution of pelargonic acid vanillylamide (PAVA), a synthetic capsaicinoid (analogue of capsaicin), in a solvent of aqueous ethanol

The propellant is nitrogen. This solution has been selected because this is the minimum concentration that will fulfill the purpose of the equipment; namely to minimize a person's capacity for resistance, without unnecessarily prolonging their discomfort.

PAVA is significantly more potent than CS gas  The liquid stream is a spray pattern and has a maximum effective range of up to four meters (13 ft). Maximum accuracy, however, will be achieved over a distance of 1.25–2 meters (4.1–6.6 ft). The operating distance is the distance between the canister and the subject's eyes, not the distance between the user and the subject.

And just a £22 pound fine! What a joke!

A MAN from Llandudno has received a conditional discharge and a fine after he was found guilty of possession of an item discharging noxious liquid.

Scott Brickles, 25, of Church Walks, was accused of possessing a canister containing PAVA spray in Bolton on May 18, 2020.

Similar to pepper spray, PAVA spray is considered far more potent than CS gas, while its propellant is nitrogen.

Mr Brickles gave an indicated guilty plea at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court on July 5.

He received a six-month conditional discharge and is to pay a £22 fine by August 2.
