North Wales...March for Welsh Independence in pictures

In theory, it is a great idea to be independent of The UK Government, however, will anything change?

A recent petition of over 5,000 on Saving a building in Wales was taken to the Senedd, they refused to listen and deflected it back to the council.

They even said that we have too many listed buildings which is total rubbish.

The thing is, if they are not going to listen to the public and the communities why will they be any different to the current government?

Also, the Councils have all of the power locally and they are the problem, now in Conwy, we have Charles McCoubrey at the top of the ladder and whom is refusing to do anything with regards to saving the 300-year-old coaching hotel from demolition by Cartrefi Conwy in Abergele.

So Cadw are useless, if you have used the wrong colour paint they won't list a building and the council is all in favour of developers and housing associations, changing the government will do nothing.

A march was organized by Yes Cymru and All Under One Banner Cymru (AUOB) along with Indy Fest Wrecsam, who organized a market held at Queen’s Square. This saw stalls selling independence merch, Wrexham Lager, food, and ale as well as cider.

The event saw a turnout of around six thousand to eight thousand people according to the official police number.

Supporters of Welsh independence came from all over Wales, and beyond with Scottish and Irish flags occasionally appearing.

The march began just after 12 this afternoon and was led by the Cambria band who played an assortment of Welsh songs including the National Anthem, Yma O Hyd, and Bread of Heaven.

It took about twenty minutes after the front of the march had set off for the last few people in the march to leave Llwyn Isaf, where the event was held.

Wrexham council had attempted to put a stop to the march earlier this week saying that it was a political event but were unsuccessful.

The next March for Independence will be held in Cardiff on October 1, 2022.
