Colwyn Bay....Council Claim There Are No Funds for Leasure Centre Water Slide Repair

All through the lockdowns the pool pumps were kept on and this must have cost a fortune, and now they have not got the money to repair a small slide?

But they managed to get all that money for turf!

What can you say except Conwy Council are...................................

A WATER slide at a Colwyn Bay swimming pool is unlikely to reopen to the public unless funding can be obtained.

The slide at Colwyn Leisure Centre, in Eirias Park, has been out of action for some years.

One resident told the Pioneer: "I took my grandchildren to the swimming pool and I'm furious that it's still closed. I couldn't take them to the paddling pool in Llandudno and then the disappointment continued when I told them they couldn't go on the slide at Colwyn Bay swimming pool because it is still broken."

She went on to say that she has been "informed" that the slide isn't being fixed because it would cost "just as much" to replace it.

A spokesperson for Conwy County Borough Council said: "The swimming pool at Colwyn Leisure Centre is open to the public as usual. Unfortunately, the slide requires repair and is currently not in use.

"We have received quotes for the work which exceeds the centre’s maintenance budget and are currently looking for funding to carry out the repairs."

  1. No doubt they will be pushing up our council tax yet again to pay for their incompetence!

  2. I bet they will up out CT again, instead of selling these places if they are running into debt.
