Heartbreaking news...Councillor David Howcroft has sadly died.

Such a lovely man and dedicated Cllr, he was a credit to his profession and loved very deeply by so many in the community for his support on a variety of projects.

A statement from Facebook,

He was't got knocked down by a car in West End Medical Centre a few months ago. The lady drove off. They never traced her. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of internal injury.

I hope they find the hit-and-run driver regardless.
