You would have thought by now they would have just moved on, we have all heard them, but do not all agree with them. Their marches have brought Bullying, Chants for mass Genocide, Homophobia and more, its about time they called it a day. A MARCH calling on Welsh Labour to take urgent action on the situation in Gaza will take place in Llandudno tomorrow, as the Welsh Labour party conference takes place in the town.
Hundreds of protesters are expected in Llandudno, joined by Steve Witherden, Labour MP for Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr, to call for further action to end the atrocities in Gaza.
A silent procession will set off at 11am from Llandudno railway station, moving through the seaside town and culminating in a rally outside Venue Cymru, where Welsh Labour’s Annual Party Conference is being held.
Several speakers will address the rally, including Alison Harris from Jewish Voice for Labour, David McKnight from Stop the War Cymru, Amira Nimerawi from Health Workers for Palestine, and social media influencer Kayleigh Unitt.
They will echo the voices of more than 300 actors, bands, singers, artists and activists who have recently called upon Keir Starmer to suspend all UK arms sales and licences to Israel.
Mr Witherden said: “I'm looking forward to speaking at this year's All North Wales Event for Palestine, outside the Welsh Labour Conference in Llandudno.
“It's an honour to be invited to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and alongside comrades from Palestine Solidarity Campaign branches in Northeast Wales, Northwest Wales and Maldwyn, plus Bangor and Ynys Môn Peace and Justice Group, Heddwch ar Waith, and Stop the War Cymru.
“As Israeli leaders openly vow to 'wipe out' Gaza, it's clear they won't stop until every drop of Gaza’s blood is spilled - if we let them. Palestinians are being starved and bombed, while our own government fails in its legal and moral duties.
“I fully support urgent calls for a permanent ceasefire, full humanitarian access, an end to arms sales to Israel, a ban on trade with illegal settlements, and for Britain to reckon with the legacy of the Balfour Declaration and its role in this ongoing injustice. “Though there are few voices in Parliament speaking out, we are loud, clear and determined - and we will keep pushing the government to draw a red line.”
David McKnight, co-chair of Stop the War Cymru, said: “It is utterly shameful that after almost 21 months of Israel’s barbaric massacres in Gaza and the West Bank, killing over 65,000 people including 20,000 children, the UK government continues to provide, military, economic and political support to the ongoing genocide.
“With their illegal and unprovoked assault on Iran, Israel and the US are hell-bent on setting the Middle East ablaze and dragging us into a catastrophic third world war.
“We are calling on the Welsh Labour Party to oppose this insanity, to finally stand up for the rights of the Palestinian people, for international law, and for peace and justice.
“The party has a choice - it can either stand shoulder to shoulder with Palestinians as it did with the people of South Africa against apartheid or it can be remembered as a party that was complicit in genocide.
“From students to pensioners, the Welsh peace movement will continue to pressure the Welsh and UK governments, Welsh universities, Welsh pension funds and other institutions to end their complicity in Israel’s war crimes and human rights violations. Stop the genocide.”
Mohammed, co-chair of PSC Northwest Wales, said: “As PSC Director, Ben Jamal reminded us recently: “Don't underestimate the capacity for people in power to tolerate utter evil.”
“While Lammy does a U-turn to say what’s happening in Gaza is indefensible and monstrous and Falconer claims to be appalled and disturbed, the Starmer-lead government pursues its repulsive complicity in the wholesale slaughter of Palestinian men, women and children by bombing, starvation and disease.
“So, we will be there to call this out on 28th June – as human beings from many different campaign groups across Wales in all our diversity, coming together to say that we see Labour’s capacity and complicity to tolerate utter evil and we totally reject the blatant hypocrisy of this grubby cadre of genocide enablers.” From....https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/25272171.hundreds-pro-palestine-activists-descend-llandudno/
