Again another poor court decision, just a £235 fine! It must have cost far more than that to repair the car!
A MAN from Colwyn Bay has been fined after he pleaded guilty to obstructing a constable and causing criminal damage to a police vehicle.
Kane Williams, 34, of Ffordd Mynach, was accused of the following in Old Colwyn on August 22:
- Obstructing PC Garnett while he was acting in the execution of his duty.
- Damaging the cell of a Peugeot vehicle belonging to North Wales Police.
He pleaded guilty to both offenses at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on September 23.
Williams is to pay a £150 fine, the same amount in compensation, and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
This totaled £235, which he is to pay as an entire lump sum within 28 days.
An application was made by the court for deductions from his benefits.
A third offense, of drunk and disorderly behavior on Abergele Road, Old Colwyn on August 22, was withdrawn.
