Conwy ..Former Council Flood Defence Manager Jailed For Child Sex Offenses in 2019 Now Released!

A very odd case is, the former Conwy council flood defense manager was jailed for 11 years in 2019 after admitting the offenses. All of the local papers ignored the story and even the Daily Post stated that it only published stories that the public would be interested in, when questioned why they had not printed any of this story all the way up to Crown Court! All of the papers have printed far less severe stories on sexual offenses! But not this one. Dyfed Rowland also worked in the schools and went around giving talks on Flood Defense to the children! All records of him appear to have been moved offline! Apparently plans were drawn up for his parole and early release some time ago, sadly it looks like there was a wall of silence from the press again following his release! Colwyn Bay... The Last Days Of Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School

Very sad to see the soon-to-be-demolished gardens and children's allotments, as the school will soon be closed for good. The couple who took the pictures believed that due to the articles in the paper that the school had already closed, and went to document the site before it is destroyed. (and had no idea it was still being used, and they would never have gone there had they realized) In the new plans, most of the gardens, extensions, etc will be destroyed and shrubs and trees all cut down unless protected, so it will be very different. I hope the developer's Castle Green does not destroy the inside and all of the ceilings, staircases, and stained glass. And sadly this is yet more destruction of the conservation area on the way! How much more will the council allow? And can it still be called a conservation area after all the flats and houses that have or are being built? I think not!

Tacky Colwyn Sign Removed Off Prom For Even Tackier Sign! (April Fools) sadly!

Was this an April fools???? Thank you to a reader who has sent this in, The Colwyn sign is being removed from the Prom early this morning. For the 150th anniversary year, these huge letters are being replaced. In conjunction with the Twinning Towns, Colwyn Bay is to be renamed as it twins with Pender in Nebraska to celebrate its ties with Sir John Pender, who sold the land the town was built on in 1875. A fantastic event celebrating Twinning Towns to foster international cooperation, cultural exchange, and understanding, promoting peace and reconciliation while also offering opportunities for economic and educational partnerships.
