Colwyn Bay...Man guilty of withholding information to gain car insurance fines £150!

One wonders how someone who can only afford to pay £6.00 a week back to pay the fine could have afforded to run a car?

A MAN from Colwyn Bay is to pay in excess of £150 after he was found guilty of withholding information to gain car insurance.

Jonah Morris, 23, of Tan-y-Lan Road, Old Colwyn, was accused of withholding information regarding his previous conviction while trying to obtain such insurance.

He was found guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on June 8.

Mr Morris was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a £34 victim surcharge.

This amounted to a total of £159, which he is to pay in weekly, £6 installments from July 1.

The court also made an application for deductions from Mr. Morris’ benefits.
