Absolutely spot on that he went to prison, I hope the Police Officer is okay and will have no long-term issues following the assault.
Our Police officers do a very good job, and it is not acceptable in any way to assault them but 12 weeks with a weapon and assaulting an officer with a £200-pound fine is a joke!
A MAN from Conwy has been sentenced to prison after he was found guilty of assaulting a policeman.
Callum Jones, 34, of Esplanade, Penmaenmawr, was accused of assaulting PC Mark Lee by beating him in the town on February 20.
He pleaded guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 27.
Mr. Jones was sentenced to 12 weeks’ imprisonment, uplifted from eight weeks due to it being an unprovoked attack of a serious nature against an emergency worker involving a weapon.
He must also pay £200 in compensation.
