Llandudno...Security measures come into force at vandal hit school!

So sad that this sort of thing is happening so frequently. We need more secure units built in the area to house these damaged delinquents.

After vandalism resulted in serious damage at a local school, a local politician has welcomed the joint steps taken to tackle a reoccurance.

Following incidents at Ysgol Tudno, that saw multiple windows smashed and outside play equipment damaged, MS for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has been working with the school, stakeholders, and Crime Prevention Services to see CCTV systems installed at the location.

It has now been confirmed that Crime Prevention Services has completed its installation of a CCTV security system across Ysgol Tudno free of charge.

Commenting on the news Mrs. Finch-Saunders said: “The vandalism seen at Ysgol Tudno rightly shocked the community. Our schools should be a safe and secure place for all staff and pupils.

“I would like to thank North Wales Police, Conwy County Borough Council, Mrs Iona Hughes, Headteacher of Ysgol Tudno and of course Crime Prevention Services for working collaboratively with me to see steps taken to safeguard this facility.

“Crime Prevention Services have carried out this outstanding work free of charge which is a truly generous and commendable act that I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Karen Farrell, Managing Director of Crime Prevention Services and her team for.

“I would also like to commend Mrs Iona Hughes. Her dedication to this matter and her commitment to the safety of staff and students at Ysgol Tudno has been outstanding.

“I am delighted to have been able to assist in opening lines of communication between the relevant organisation to ensure that the necessary steps were taken to protect this important local school.”
