After all of the work done on the beach and surrounding areas, This is sad to see, I wonder how many people will heed the warning? RESIDENTS of Colwyn Bay have been warned about an ongoing pollution issue at two locations along the town’s coast.
Surfers Against Sewage have published two alerts, from the last 48 hours, about storm sewage-related pollution in the area - one at Porth Eirias and another at Rhos Point.
The charity said: “Pollution alert: Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours.
“The sample point is located to the left/west of the building at Porth Eirias car park and down the beach. “The sample is taken 250 metre to the left of the stones - half way between Porth Eirias Centre and the pier."
It added: Pollution alert: Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours.
“The bay is situated on the north Wales coastline, to the east of Rhos Point.
“The beach is long and sandy, with a concrete promenade to the rear.
“The water quality sample point is located in front of the Cayley Promenade opposite the lifebuoy and the white tower."
Other issues concerning storm sewage were flagged at Llyn Padarn, Criccieth, and Harlech in Gwynedd. From....https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/24293651.colwyn-bay-beaches-polluted-sewage-amid-charity-warning/
