Llandudno... Flasher exposed himself to woman as she was decorating her Christmas tree!

Not a funny event and quite scary for the individual too.

A flasher was held by a man in a “citizen’s arrest”, but months later had knocked on a patio window and exposed himself again - this time to a woman decorating her Christmas tree, a court heard.

Jason Northover, 20, of Hadden Court, Penrhyn Avenue, Rhos on Sea, had first “flashed” at Dolgellau after peeping from behind a bush outside a couple’s home at night. Prosecutor James Neary at Llandudno court said Northover had stopped near houses where bedroom lights were on and had been seen in the street, exposing himself.

The defendant was taken to the ground by a local man until police arrived. However, Mr Neary said a woman decorating her Christmas tree late at night at Rhos on Sea last month, with curtains open, had been startled by a knock on a window. She saw trouser-less Northover close to the glass.

But Northover had dropped his mobile phone and bank cards, too, and was arrested by police. Nia Dawson, defending, said he was “mortified” about his behaviour. He admitted to two offences of exposure.

District judge Gwyn Jones imposed 12 weeks’ custody, suspended for two years, with rehabilitation sessions and a programme for those involved in sexual offences. Northover must obey a tagged 8pm-6am curfew until July, a 120 days alcohol abstinence monitoring order, and pay £300 compensation to the Rhos on Sea woman and £85 costs.

A sexual harm prevention order was made for seven years. “Alcohol seems to have been the trigger for these offences,” Judge Jones remarked.
