Llandudno....Puppy 'attacked' by greyhound on footpath in Penrhyn Bay!

Shocking, why was this dog not muzzled?

An interesting fact is below...

Dog attacks and the penalties for owners and dogs

The definition of attack includes the dog behaving in such a way that a person becomes fearful that they might be attacked.

The dog does not need to bite someone for you to have committed an offence. If the dog’s behaviour is aggressive or threatening you may be prosecuted. If an offence is committed it is punishable by up to six months imprisonment and a fine of £5,000.

If the dog does injure the person attacked, you could be sentenced to two years imprisonment and a £5,000 fine."

A THREE-month-old puppy was attacked on a public footpath in Penrhyn Bay.

The 'dog attack' happened shortly after 5pm on Tuesday, December 27.

A spokesperson from North Wales Police said: "The incident involved a male walking a Greyhound, which had attacked a three-month-old puppy owned by the female caller.

"Officers attended the address of the female to check on the puppy’s welfare and found no signs of injury to the animal."

A report into the incident, on North Wales Community Alert, said "A puppy was attacked on Penrhyn Bay park.

"A middle-aged man was walking with a greyhound which then attacked the puppy and walked off which as a result has caused some concern in the local community."

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
