Llandudno... Travelodge evacuated after fire crews raced to budget hotel after 'malicious activation'

Malicious Fire Alarm Activation means any intentional manual activation of any fire alarm system by someone without a reasonable belief that a fire or other emergency situation requires assistance

I hope they caught who did it. From the picture above it looks like it is being used for Asylum seekers, but I could be wrong.

Hotel guests were evacuated from a town center hotel late at night after a fire alarm was activated. Fire crews raced to the Travelodge on Gloddaeth Street in Llandudno shortly after 11.30pm last night after they were alerted to the alarm.

However, when firefighters checked the building they found no sign of smoke or fire. Pictures from the scene show a number of fire engines at the scene last night and a large group of what is understood to be hotel guests standing outside.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 23.48 to a malicious activation of a call point.

"Crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera."

Travelodge has been approached for a comment.

  1. Malicious indeed! Is it full of asylum seekers?

  2. Awful place anyway, but nowhere near as bad as the one at Colwyn Bay. You will sleep with one eye open there.
