Conwy ..Former Council Flood Defence Manager Jailed For Child Sex Offenses in 2019 Now Released!

A very odd case is, the former Conwy council flood defense manager was jailed for 11 years in 2019 after admitting the offenses. All of the local papers ignored the story and even the Daily Post stated that it only published stories that the public would be interested in, when questioned why they had not printed any of this story all the way up to Crown Court! All of the papers have printed far less severe stories on sexual offenses! But not this one. Dyfed Rowland also worked in the schools and went around giving talks on Flood Defense to the children! All records of him appear to have been moved offline! Apparently plans were drawn up for his parole and early release some time ago, sadly it looks like there was a wall of silence from the press again following his release! Colwyn Bay... The Last Days Of Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School

Very sad to see the soon-to-be-demolished gardens and children's allotments, as the school will soon be closed for good. The couple who took the pictures believed that due to the articles in the paper that the school had already closed, and went to document the site before it is destroyed. (and had no idea it was still being used, and they would never have gone there had they realized) In the new plans, most of the gardens, extensions, etc will be destroyed and shrubs and trees all cut down unless protected, so it will be very different. I hope the developer's Castle Green does not destroy the inside and all of the ceilings, staircases, and stained glass. And sadly this is yet more destruction of the conservation area on the way! How much more will the council allow? And can it still be called a conservation area after all the flats and houses that have or are being built? I think not!

Rhyl child rape and grooming gang guilty of trafficking girls!

Nice to see some of these monsters getting arrested. Its an odd case , 5 Islamic men and a non Islamic woman! This case has hardly had any media attention, it should have had loads. I hope the victims can recover after the abuse. Five defendants have today been convicted following a major child sexual exploitation investigation led by North Wales Police . Conwy Council's leader salary jumps £20k in five years amid pay rises!

This is shocking, are not our beloved council millions in debt? If this is so, freezing the increases for five years as they have done before should be a priority, yet they have approved it. A PAY rise for councillors was rubberstamped by a Conwy County Council committee this week. Members of the authority’s democratic services committee met for July’s meeting at the council’s Coed Pella HQ to debate councillors’ salaries. The rise - which included another £4,298 for the leader, another £3,008 for the deputy leader, and an extra £2,579 for cabinet members - was “noted” as the council has no power to set the external rates of pay for most roles. The council did choose to vote in favour of a pay rise for its committee chairs and civic head, which it does have the power to agree on. The pay increase means the leader is now paid £71,025 and the deputy leader £49,717.
