Things are getting bad at "The Fading Queen Of Welsh Resorts" Break-ins at hotels in broad daylight, last week Delinquents and Youths were trying to force their way into another hotel! What next?

North Wales Police have set up a cordon in the centre of Llandudno. Officers have taped off Clonmel Street.

The street is between Mostyn Street and the promenade. Witnesses at the scene say a drone has been deployed by force.

Updates will be provided in the live blog as we get them.

Three Males Arrested

It is understood, three men were arrested amid reports of a break at The Queens Hotel building and in which saw a heavy police presence and a road closure in the town centre.

Location of incident

The police presence was due a 'break-in' at The Queens Hotel which has been closed since May 2020. The 83-bedroom hotel had been welcoming guests for more than a century and has a large dining area with about 160 covers, and function facilities consisting of two large ballrooms.

Three people 'seen on the roof'

Witnesses at the scene told North Wales Live that three people were seen inside the hotel - which closed in May 2020 after initially shutting temporarily in March of that year.

The males were also seen on the roof of the building at one point observing the police as they closed the road. Police officers were also seen on a nearby roof observing the hotel.

Street remains blocked off to public

We've also been sent some earlier images when the police were first setting up the cordon. Our sources say that the temporary closure of the street is still in place.

Pictures from the scene

The police appear to be focusing their attention towards The Queens Hotel, which sits within the corden. There are at least a dozen officers in attendance at the location.

Police confirm their response

A spokesperson for the force confirmed that officers are in attendance but added, "unfortunately we are not able to provide any further details at this stage."

Rough area of closure

So far, we do not know the official reason behind the cordon being put in place. Our reporter at the scene Aaran Lennox tells us that part of the road making up Clonmel Street is blocked off from the seafront and The Queens hotel.

Witnesses at the scene say a drone has been deployed by the force. There is also a visual presence of police officers and vehicles in attendance.

We have asked the force for more details about what is going on. In the meantime, it would be an idea to avoid the area if you're travelling in the town this evening.
