Llandudno..Seafront County Hotel closes for winter as 'most viable' solution!

We always try to go away for Christmas and everywhere we go the hotels are booked solid, it doesn't look a very inviting place to be honest, however I have never stayed there so I cannot say  one way or the other, but maybe rather than have the hotel empty they could take in Migrants or the Homless over winter?

A seafront hotel in Llandudno has closed for winter as the operators say it is the "most viable solution" to keep the business going. The seasonal nature of the tourism trade means a drop off in visitors in the winter months - although the town does attract a good number of festive tourists.

For some hotels - who are are facing very high energy bills - it makes it hard to trade profitably over this period. This has seen The County Hotel in Llandudno close the month.

Bespoke Hotels said the decision was taken to maintain the business in the long term. They plan to reopen in in late March. Both this Bespoke hotel and the Marine Hotel are currently on the market.

A spokesperson for the hotel said: "Hospitality is seasonal in nature and, as has been the case in previous years, The County hotel is set to close for the winter months, with the significant drop off in trade making temporary closure the most viable solution to maintain the business. The hotel isn’t closing permanently though and is set to reopen in late March when trade traditionally returns.

"The hotel, along with the rest of the Coast & Country Hotel Collection's portfolio, is currently on the market – something that was announced earlier in the year. Whilst dialogue will start with any interested parties once an offer is received, we’re continuing to run the hotel as normal with a view to reopening once tourism picks up.”
