Lambs stolen from farmland on border with Gwynedd and Denbighshire

This really is heartbreaking, as if Farmers and Rural communities aren't struggling enough financially and with a government that seems to care little about their plight.

And who is doing this and where are the animals or meat sold?

Clearly there will be no animal welfare standards, the government should make it illegal to sell any meat that is not tracable back to the supplier, slaughter house and farm.

The worry is that certain communities have illegal slaughter houses and nothing much seems to be done about it.. But these animals are going somewhere, but where?

Lambs have been stolen from farmland on the Gwynedd and Denbighshire border.

The incident was at Bryn Meredydd, close to the village of Llandderfel.

Police said 21 of the animals were taken by the rustlers. Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter sent twice daily to your inbox

A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following the potential theft of livestock in the Llandderfel area.

"Between Saturday 24 October and Monday 26 October, 21 Cheviot cross ewe lambs were taken from farmland near Bryn Meredydd.

"The lambs are aged between 6 and 10 months old, had a red spot marking between their shoulders, and were fitted with yellow and brown ear tags."

PC Ian Nicholls from the Rural Crime Team said: "The loss of livestock at any time is significant, but at this time of year it is felt even more acutely as farmers are not only losing stock, but also valuable breeding potential for next spring."

Police added: "If you have seen these lambs, noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or saw vehicles towing livestock trailers during this period, please contact us via our live webchat or on 101 quoting reference 26000878398."
