This really is very sad news, the team at the pub worked really hard to make this a success, despite the town dying around them, they continued and are much loved by locals,
It sems everything is going in the town, Boots, WH Smiths, The Forti Bags Supermarket, Charity Shops and many more.
Its about time the council reduced the rates and that we got away from the dire Labour Government that seems to care little about our high streets or businesses.
The Prince Madoc, on Station Road, will close on Saturday, 17 October and is planning a "grand finale" to see the pub off.
The busy pub has been on the town's high street for years, under a variety of different managers.
The pub posted on its social media page: "Sad news of the Madocs closing but we will have our party of all parties to close.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support.
"The darts team, pool team and all the locals, you have been amazing and I’m so grateful to you all.
"Please join us on the 17th for the grand finale!"
The pub's loss is another for the town centre, which has seen several shops and bank branches close in recent years, including Boots (next door to The Prince Madoc), Santander and NatWest.
