They really should fine, stupid and selfish people like this. Why the team were called out to these idiots, someone genuine might have had helped delayed.
Two 'drunken' men had to be rescued after they got into difficulty on Cader Idris, near Dolgellau. Aberdfyi Search and Rescue were scrambled after reports one had collapsed on the mountain, while the other was reported missing.
Call-handlers from the team had received a report of an intoxicated and unconscious man on Cader Idris shortly before 3pm on Sunday, July 24. The man, in his 20s and part of a group of eight described as "potentially intoxicated", had collapsed and his party had left him there to raise the alarm.
He was later found back on his feet and was escorted down off the mountain. His missing companion was also later found but had sustained significant injuries in what looked like a tumbling fall down a gully. He was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd for further assessment and treatment.
A total of 17 Team volunteers were involved in the various search and rescue operations, and everyone was safely down off the hill by 8.45pm.
Volunteer Graham O'Hanlon, who attended the incident, said: "The men were not equipped for the poor weather on the mountain, or for finding their way around it, and they made some poor choices that nearly cost at least one man his life.
"But for the light color of the man's tracksuit, we may not have spotted him in time."
